Description
Captured 11/4/10, within walking distance of my hidebound habitat.
Better viewed full size.
The bottom photo is a different capture and closeup of the middle bloom in the top shoto.
The lovely hibiscus, which includes its several color varieties, has been photographed and posted so many times, especially by Marilyn/beachzz, that I figured I had to show it in a different light, which involved more contrast, light and shadow. So when better than when the sun is hanging low over the horizon on a very clear day.
Be sure to check out the textures in the petals.

Beautful, Harry. Where I live this species of Hibiscus is an indoor plant!
Gorgeous light through the petals, showing all the lovely veins; you got this one perfectly!
Omigosh, Harry, the light on this flower is simply gorgeous--- you captured it at exactly the right time!! And I do have a few of these in my gallery; it's simply my favorite!!
Wonderful colors, light and fantastic details. Looks very beautiful.
I love the light yellow color of this one. There are so many colors of Hibiscus, but yellow has always been my favorite.
I love how you have captured the light on these beautiful Hibiscus. I wish I could grow them down here as they are a splendid flower.
Sensational capture and vision!!!...an inspiration!!,have a super day!~Perry
gorgeous capture with beautiful delicate light streaming through & onto these petals. It's so delicate they almost seem made of silk or something even more fragile. In #1, the leaves behind the blooms have beautiful light playing throughout too; beautiful variations of light & shade. And the second shot is a big spill of an image, with beautiful light & shadow on the main flower. A very inspired duo, with very special hues. The sun does amazing things when it's low on the horizon...this is proof of that. Beautiful work, Harry.
I just LOVE the lighting and shadow-play here Harry...wonderful morning capture my friend. Isn't it amazing what a little light can do to a photo...real or imitation?
Super lighting on this wonderful looking plant Harry.. Quite a sunning picture! Light and water also bring out the best in flowers.. Good one! Rob
Beautiful color.
Beautiful collage and individual photos Harry. Great use of the natural lighting. Dana
Wonderful Work!!!
very wonderful
These are absolutely gorgeous on zoom! The lighting is spectacular! The petals look crepe paper thin. The detail of the veins is superb! In the second image it is amazing to see the veins both in the petals with the sun streaming through them and in the shadowed petals. The leaves in the first image are beautifully detailed and lit. I love the crumpled flower in the first image and the way the light shows all the different layers. Stunning images!
