Description
From the 1872 courthouse in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.
We're not really still in Kansas! We spent last night in Baker City, Oregon. Road conditions appear favorable between here and home, so barring any unexpected shifts in the weather, we should be unloading the car this afternoon. I can't tell you how eager I am to get back!!

Good POV and shot.

I WANT these chairs! Superb photo, droolworthy image and objects!
Great shot! Glad to know that you are almost home where you can rest
What lovely patina on the wood, and I just love those velvet cushions. Gorgeous capture!
Beautiful grain textures and patterns in the wood
Excellent capture and clarity
Love this shot! The wood grains and cushion covers are wonderful and your composition is superb.
gorgeous old chairs and that light---wow!! and yeah, home sweet home!!
A lovely shot but I have to admit that I have missed the shots of your neighbor and his Halloween decorations this year. Maybe next year.
Wonderful well polished chairs indeed. Beautiful shot Tara. I wish you a beautiful and safe trip back home. :-)
nice polished wood
Nice chairs and the grain in it is beautiful...great shot
rich, warm and fabulous composition. Stellar shot.
Beautiful photo, Tara! The two main things I remember about Cottonwood Falls are the courthouse, and the heads of the trophy catfish caught in the river. They used to hang those on a wire down near the falls. Made for an interesting, if slightly bizaare display.
Great looking chairs, super shot Tara..
At least they made it comfy to sit on with the cushion! Excellent POV and great capture Tara!
Another wonderful POV.

I love the super patina of these chairs that you have captured so well. Oh the stories they can tell.
excitment in the air to sit or sleep at home for a stay wonderful capture, Tara May Warm hugs, Linda Kaye
Wonderful old chairs. Obviously not from IKEA. Great capture.
Cool shot!!
I can just see this - thankfully claim was settled at the last minute last week so I did not have to see the inside of that courthouse! Great mood your image creates, Clive
Interesting shot! :)
What a shot. Just look at that wood! That sheen! Those colors! WOW! Okay, Jury chair and anything jury related makes me want to scramble for a doctor's note just to get out of dealing with it, but beyond that, this is quite a stellar shot. I love the richness of it, the sense of place, and the implied stories. What would these chairs tell us if they could speak? Marvelous. And the idea of being in an old courthouse, WOW! It's like old school houses, or log cabins or something left over from the days when this country had such a history ahead of it, such potential. Things weren't necessarily better way back when, in fact things were a lot worse in many ways, but there seems to be a sense that the ability to look ahead hadn't been lost and images like this are a reminder of that "openness" for lack of a better word. This is marvelous work. Quite stunning in those ways that are totally subtle and elegant.
the light on the wood, the reflections as well as the overall sheen, is beautiful tara; you've captured the sweep and contour of these beautiful chairs. And you've captured the music of how they mingle, arm to arm, back against back, etc. Though there's a lighter colored wall behind, the shot is a symphony of rich browns & dark ambers, and the blue highlights on the arms only accentuates the deep browns, making this a rich & warm capture. I'm glad that as you were doing all you were doing out there, you found these places to shoot. A very warm & undulating shot, esp when you consider they're big hard wooden chairs! Without those cushions, I don't know how comfortable they'd be. But then maybe they didn't want jury members to be too comfortable, I don't know...Sensitive, fine work Tara.
Beautiful capture of the wood grain. The patterns of the two chairs that have less contrast, are gorgeous in zoom. Excellent composition and light!
A nicely seen image.
Superb shot. Can almost smell the wood.
