Description
Boston has a Freedom Trail. It is a walk that took me too many of the historic sites of the center city. It led me to the Copp's Hill Burying Ground. I have posted from here before. I know that this is not a very old headstone, as far as some parts of the world are concerned but for Boston it is. These two children died the same day and I spent a lot of time trying to find out why/how but could not.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

Great capture! only thing I could think of was some fever?
Excellent capture! These old headstones offer so much history...and mystery!
WoW Those Are Very Interesting,Look to be in great shape for there age!
What a capture. I like those skull shapes, they're so nicely stylized and they remind me of stuff I've seen in the Czech Republic. Great light and textures. There are so many stories implied in this and I'm really curious about them too! This is really great stuff. Touching. It's very human and shows the incredible frailty humans often have to endure. This is quite a moving piece of work.
Pulls on my heart strings children should never have to suffer, like you I would like to know why and how, very interesting capture and thought prevoking!
very interesting story and photo!!
Such a very sad thing to lose a child, but losing two at once is a horrible loss.
Fascinating, It would be terrible to lose two children I can only think it was a fever or accident.
Oh wow Dana I love it! It's older than anything non-indigenous we have around here! I love it when old tombstones are published online, whether they be my me or someone else. I have this strange sense of pride thinking about how the person would feel if they knew that they were being beamed all over the world by this new space aged Internet! I bet they could never had imagined it. It feels like giving them their 15 mins of fame.
Great capture but no doubt hiding a very sad story.
So sad, maybe an illness.
Great capture , Dana !
Excellent capture!
nice shot!
Oh dear, that is sad, the poor parents. Must have been one of those olden day illnesses!!!
Most likely Influenza or Smallpox. :( Excellent capture!
belle photo!!
Capital capture of the very olde headstone, as least as far as I'm concerned, Dana. It's held up well after all this time. And the stone chiseler did a top notch job.
Fabulous capture Dana, amazing work!
Amazing and so old and now u have me wondering also gonna see what i can find out also.
Sad but also a nice capture.
