Not sure if you're aware or if others have mentioned it, but that hair cut has a very strong Star Trek feel to it. The original series gave the male characters pointed side burns to look futureistic, but it was easy to remove and enabled them to go out into current-day society afterward not looking like freaks. Women do not, of course, sport sideburns, but that is what it looks like to me. It may just be me. It's been a while since someone's called me crazy, but it probably still holds true.
