The Firebird (Russian: Жар-птица, Jar-ptitsa) is a tale in two tables from a national Russian tale whose music was composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1909-1910 on the order of Serge Diaghilev. It was created at the Opéra de Paris 25 June 1910 by the Ballets Russes with choreography by Michel Fokine and edited by Gabriel Pierne.
This is the first major ballet musician, which made him instantly famous. Diaghilev regularly renewed thereafter for Stravinsky orders until 1928. The first ballet to follow The Firebird Petrushka were in 1911 and The Rite of Spring in 1913.
Aimed at the ballet, The Firebird is also a great work together.
