Description
I went to photograph the horse standing up (asleep I might add) and discovered these six, all sound asleep. Two minutes later a Harrier Jet screamed overhead and disturbed them all.
These Exmoor Ponies are very hardy, from prehistoric stock and can be seen running wild over the moor.

beautiful scene....those ponies are great..
Beautiful shot! They certainly are a hearty breed...and quite the rugged little performers when gentled.

I've spent many hours on this moor which of all three is my absolute favourite place to see Deer! I love these ponies. It's amazing just what they can endure. I just hope this winter isn't as hard for all the moors' ponies as last year. A really stunning shot! ^=^
Here in Canada when animals sleep on the ground...thats mean RAIN TO COME :)
Their stocky build is wonderful and your photo gives a nice natural scene to enjoy.
A most beautiful shot, Jeff. From the Ponies as the amazing view!
Beautiful capture! Somebody need to arange a bunch of rocks on the ground to spell out "Quiet! We are trying to sleep here." So the jet pilots can see it. ;D
