Description

The Dawn Trader is a small caravel that plies the coastal waters of Rechtlacken. It ferries trade goods from port to port, along with the occasional passenger. Today, it is bringing three passengers to the Port of Two Islands. Moreover, all three are women! In these days, women rarely travel far from their hearths. The older passenger, Sister Hieronymous, is acting as chaperone to King Pyrick's two youngest daughters, who will be going to a religious college for the daughters of nobles. The college is considered a safe place to stash daughters until they can be married off to the advantage of their fathers. Captain Stanard will be happy to be rid of all three of them. Their passage was a handsome sum, but only barely worth the trouble of meeting the women's constant demands and complaints. Not only that, his crew spent more time mooning over the princesses than doing their work. The old salts always claimed it was bad luck to have women aboard a ship. Stanard was beginning to think there might just be something to that old saw. ________ Who says women haven't come a long way? While they still have a way to go, today we have women who are the captains of their ships! I'm all for whatever progress occurs. I want my daughter, nieces, and granddaughters to be able to be all that they can be without running into some male-dominated notions of female inferiority! I've supervised women and had women supervisors in my long work career; and I can say that my experience is that the average woman can outwork and outthink most the male workers I've known. Well, time to get off the soapbox! Heh! Hope you enjoy the render. Thanks for all your past comments and support of my previous postings. Jeremy CREDITS: Vue7 Pro Studio, Poser6, PostShopPro5.
