Fantastic artwork!
I think the road adds depth to the image, both visually and aesthetically. With the road this is a painting. Without the road it would just be a graphic silhouette ... a halloween poster. The road gives this a third compositional element that makes it something special. The main circle/diagonal compo is good, but the opposing diagonal of the road makes this image pop. So ... I vote to leave the road in! :)

An art teacher I once had said the fear of blank space was one of the hardest handicaps for an artist to over come. This is a very good composition. Well done, and the road is perfect since it helps to draw the eye across the blank space and to the distant focal point of the house, turning a simple picture into a mysterious visual journey.
