When I first created him, he didn't have the armor shown here in his current design, but was simply a tough-looking dog guy in a Super-Man or Bat-Man type hero outfit with a big R on his chest. It was so long ago, that I can't really remember exactly how I came up with the concept as a whole, but I do remember wanting to create a super-hero team that was kind of a cross between X-Men and TMNT in that they'd all be animal mutants like the Turtles, but have powers like the X-Men, and I just decided on giving each of them elemental powers coupled with 3 super-strong guys, 3-super-speedsters, and 3-fliers for a total of nine. For whatever reason I was thinking at the time, this guy became the super-strong dog mutant who could control the element of earth. The idea of making him the loyal second in command and the rest of his background came later by simply thinking of how dogs are very loyal, and I just figured that since he has all of these ground powers, he might as well be knowledgeable in some natural sciences since I wanted to make him to be more than just the clichéd big dumb strong guy who smashes stuff, since he's also the co-leader of the team. He still does all the smashing, but there's more to him than that is what I'm saying. Rock Head comes from the capitol city of "Stonetonopolis" within the "Plateau Expanse" of the planet Stoneton. His protégé, "Terrier" of the "Anizonz" also hails from this city, as is nurse "Lab-Test" of the G.P.E.
