Description
This 20 year old Masked Lapwing suffers from age related arthritis in his right ankle. His foot is in a permanently curled position that you see here. He has adapted, limps along just fine and his only problem is that he can no longer fly up and land on a branch. He is monitored by the Palm Beach Zoos Animal Care and Veterinary team. Taken May 2009.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.

He's a lovely bird. Fortunately he's got people who care about the lives of such wonderful wildlife.
Hopefully he is in an enclosure where there are no predators Great shot

Arthritis? That's something I definitely have in common with the hardy avian. Cool capture of the senior citizen Lapwing as it limps through the last stages of life.
