Description
This is the ships bell on the U.S.S. Constitution. She is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the US Navy and is the world's oldest floating commissioned naval vessel. She was launched in 1797 and sits in the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, Massachusetts. The inscription says:
US FRIGATE CONSTITUTION BELL
PRESENTED BY THE DESCENDANTS
OF OFFICERS AND MEN "WHO SERVED
ON OLD IRONSIDE" 1928

Very beautiful capture of this magnificent lady!
wow nice bell, beautiful capture
Beautiful photo Dana, a great capture again my friend, well done!
Ding ding, ding ding, ding ding..... Very good clarity, color and detail in this foto, Dana. Everything looks nice and clean. With the dedicated application of spit and polish, the bell looks in relatively good shape after all these years.
Nicely captured. I like the cloud reflections on the bell. :)
Nice shot, if I'm not mistaken the Constitution is still a commissioned ship in the US Navy and the men and women aboard are on active duty.
I have a freind who has a ship's bell and when he rings it, it sounds off. Lovely shot of this old bell. Gorgeous gleam.
