Description
I heat with wood, so every year about this time, I get my woodpile cleaned up and straightened out. I got a cord (4x4x8') of wood delivered, stacked it, and cut the few pieces too long for my stove. I'll cover it soon to keep it dry during the wet winter months. By the time I actually throw a chunk of wood on the fire, I figure it's heated me up several times already!!

lol that will do it. don't you hate to see the cold coming, I sure do. I feel for you lol
I have just lit my first wood fire of this autumn tonight! Glad you reminded us what a cord is, I learned that in primary but we've gone metric!
That is a lottttttttt of wood wow. Your gallery is impressive
Nahhh, but thanks for asking!! LOL... WOW - now that is a pile of wood!!! Gosh my friend! Good luck!
Wow, that's a lot of firewood! I love wood fires on cold nights. Nice shots.
excellent memories for me
You are sure prepared for the next cold day or night. Aloha
lot of work for sure. guess you can cook on your fire? so a pot of soup will heat you up too
Lots of various and sundry textures in the above picture, Maz. I don't know if I can reconcile the above image and narrative with the blazing heat wave we're experiencing down here in Southern California this weekend. It's been running a cool (pun intended) 100+ degrees each day, with more on the way.
That's a lot of wood; ouch, I'm aching in sympathy just thinking about stacking it!
Yup. My son is doing the same. He doesn't order wood...he goes out and cuts his own trees and hauls them home in the spring. All summer he and his son chop it and stack it. Not everyone understands how much work it is to winter over without central heat. :-)
I'm not wild about electric baseboard heat, but it sure beats wood! That is a LOT of work.
That a good lot of wood nothing quite like a lovely fire on a cold winters night, Great collage, I've spent many a day cutting and stacking firewood..
Ummmm! I think that I am busy that weekend. Dana
