Description
The Giant Polypore burst forth from stumps everywhere at this time of year. Here is a side and top view.
It says in my little book - slow cooked young brackets are edible, but can cause gastric upset in some people. We won't be trying this one then!

Stunning capture my friend.
Beautiful captures and a great find! :)
What a beauty! Not one for the cookpot though, edible or not. ^=^
nice shots
Oh go on Kevin....hehe... just a little taste...with a sizzle of bacon? Gosh it really is something isn't it? A massive chunky delectable beauty. I have noticed that our walks amongst the woods have been peppered with sighting of all sorts of fungi this summer - mainly small nondescript efforts. I remember mushroom picking a few years ago - the resulting bounty was yellow staining mushrooms and we were fortunate enough to be told not to eat them by someone with more knowledge than I..
Gorgeous pics! A friend left me some what she thought were field mushrooms yesaterday, but when I started to cook them the skins went yellow..OOPS! so I did without!
Wow, these are wonderful! I don't think I'd try eating them, though. If anyone is going to have gastric upset it will be me!
Stunning captures of this fungi with its amazing shape and texture.
SPLENDID colors; Good angles for these shots. I am a null for searching fungi. For me, they are part of Nature. EXCELLENT presentation.
