The Jeep J8 is a light 4 x 4 military platform which is manufactured by Chrysler LLC and builds upon the military heritage of the Jeep branch which has been in continual military service since WWII. The standard Jeep Wrangler JK has been utilised as the base vehicle and has been upgraded to increase braking, payload capacity and ruggedness. This upgrade programme has further enhanced product's capability and flexibility; in many cases in excess of other available platforms. One new version, of the Jeep J8, is the JGMS J8 light patrol vehicle. The Jeep J8 LPV can carried 3 soldiers fully equipped. The Jeep J8 LPV is equipped with a rear traversing ring with folding buffered mount for 7.62 mm machine gun, 12,7 mm machine gun, or 40 mm grenade launcher with universal ammo tin holders. At the front, the the seat commander is equipped with swing arm for 7.62 machine gun with buffered weapon mount. The Jeep J8 LPV is a tactical 3 man patrol vehicle which offers crew accommodation, weapon mounting system and storage for fuel, ammunition, weapons, mission equipment and communication equipment. The vehicle can be fitted with either permanent or removable armour systems and is air-transportable by a variety of military helicopter or planes. As a fast attack vehicle, the Jeep J8 LPV is equipped with robust tubular roll over protection system integrated into the vehicle chassis. The Jeep J8 vehicle is powered by a VM Motori 2.8 Panther Turbo Diesel, coupled to an automatic transmission Chrysler 5 speed with overdrive. The Jeep J8 Light Patrol Vehicle options are, additional driving lamps and military vehicle black-out system with IR if required, electric winch, sand channels, vehicle jack, and wire cutter. @ Cornucopia
