Description
In late April of 1945, facing imminent defeat by Allied forces, Adolf Hitler and select top aids entered a secret bunker beneath Berlin and were never seen again. For decades events that took place in the last days of the European war were shrouded in mystery. Popular opinion was that Hitler took his own life. Popular opinion has been wrong. A single super powered agent, The Masked Shrike, would be the last sight that the maniacal leader of the Third Reich would ever see.
This was a commission piece of a WWII era super hero. The only direction I received from the client was to depict her character taking it to the German’s. Dealing the final blow to the Third Reich just seemed to fit.
For this one I did quite a bit of research to get the uniforms right, with authentic badges and awards, as well as tons of reference shots for the Hitler morph and textures. And while I’m happy with the results I’m glad it’s done. I went through way too much Nazi crap for my taste.
It’s ironic though that the first custom morph and texture I’ve done is for a lunatic I will probably never use again. Oh well.
As always thanks for the look and comments.

WOW!
Very cool work and scene, well done...
really is a super piece. I've seen images of Hitler throughout my stay on renderosity. He murdered people because of their race, skin... I know the war ended way back in the 40s, but I can't help wondering how many people are still alive today and still believe in what he stood for - it's scarey. With the net being world wide, and all us artists talking to each other and getting to know each other it really makes me wonder how a human being such as Hitler could get that much control... I'd rather believe that people of all races can care about one another... one last thought, I'm kinda expecting Hellboy to bust through the wall and torch a few people - lol
fantastic work...and i understand you!
Very nice work...
Nice work buddy, I hear you on the research and behind the scenes work. This turned out nice though:) It may be the last time you use the morph and texture but the image will last so you will always have it to go back on:) As always Raddar a job well done!.. CHEERs
Really a great historical rewrite. I love the what if art presented here. Great imagination.
Awesome scene! Everything turned out perfect!
First of all Roy, this is FANTASTIC!! The POV is amazing and the composition definitely shines forth both your great skill and the research you did for this piece! The Hitler morph is VERY well done - very convincing - and there is no doubt as to who is being depicted. Superb work on the uniforms too. The one thing I can't figure out is why she is called the "masked" shrike. She has some flight glasses on her forehead but no mask. You did a GREAT job with her outfit too! It looks VERY much the period. Superb work on this my friend!
Super nice work on this! You might use that Hitler morph more than you think... I don't think anyone is going to mind images depicting Hitler's end. I like that you added the Hellboy character to the right :) Great job!
wow! you really know how to create such amasing images. 10+ this is feakin' cool!
This is superb. I love it. Great attention to detail. Fabulous pov and posing. Nice depiction of Hitler. I admire the amount of effort and time invested in this. Really good pic.
An excellent piece of detailed work! The characters, morphs, style, all of it is very well executed, right down to the capture of a very insane looking Hitler. Very well done!
Great work!!!
Great render! The Beauty and the Beast(s)! POV, pose, lightnning and everythin is just perfect!
very well done
Superb character and scene!!!
Roy, this is nothing less than phenominal! The work and research you put into this is evident. The image of Hitler is frighteningly accurate - very much looks like the few photos that exist of him in his last days. Gaunt, worn, and completely insane. The Nazi uniforms are perfect. And of course his 'assasain' waiting for her chance to strike... well, she's incredibly hot! Wow! It IS rather frightening to study Hitler, and the Nazis' rise to power, but I honestly wish more people would spend some time learning about it. Maybe we'd have fewer screwballs ending up in positions of power... 10,000 stars on this one, buddy!
beau travail!!
amazing work!!!!
Awesome!!!!!
This is awesome way better that my hiter big thumbs up !!!
A superb render! And a most masterful work of art! Very well done! Great alternate history descriptive! Bravo! Oh, if it could only have been that way. How many millions of more lives may have been spared.
What a powerful scene. I can actually feel the tension and drama about to unfold. What an amazing job you did on the very realistic outfits. It's even more amazing that this is your first try. They look spectacular. Outstanding work on the lighting as well.
Really nice looking image! Good work!
So Gorgeous!!!
Aside from being a kick ass image in general, the attention to detail and concept execution are amazing!! Excellent!!!
That is so cool! I can't believe I missed this one! I really love the 40's look, and your right...if your going to make a blow at the Nazi's...hit the big bad dumkoff himself!
I just loved the emotional tension you have succeeded in adding to this scene. Bravo!
Great scence!
