I have seen american football (called in this way, though they use the hands most of the time) and I have tried to figure it out. It is absolutely a very tactial game but of course I don't know so much about it as a native american does. But both sports coaches and politicians use the same sort of tactics: You have to win over your counterpart - and to this some tactics are needed(often dirty tricks in modern politics!).
I still try to find new ways to tell a story because such a long story needs moore variation, for I believe it is much "easier" to make "single renders" where you are not so depended by continuity and logic!

A great way to give a visual metaphore to the story and a great way for you as an artist to get a chance to do a render that would seem outside the storyline. In a long series you need to take some breaks from the theme.
