Description
This little vole seemed to be deaf and almost blind. It was walking in broad daylight in the open on a path. It didn't seem to hear of see us, it just carried on it's own dangerous life. A simple meal for any predator. I thought it seemed like a Rabbit when it has Myxomatosis. The pix aren't that special just showing its eye problem really. Can any other rodents get this desease?

Andrea is most certainly right and it's a tragedy! 'Tis a pity more warnings are not put out there on the growing tick problem, rather than the myth that all rats carry weils, which they don't! Poor vole.
voles have short lifespans...as do most of the smaller rodents. Could be it was in its twilight years. Very interesting shots.

Great photographs and poor little creature. The local Council here puts rat poison in the field ditches so I could believe anything..
