Description
A remembrance, a sort of tribute and maybe a memorial to those beings who have lived with us, given us comfort, and loved us unconditionally. So many of us here at Rendo have lost beloved companion animals so this dedicated to you all and to those beloved pets.
So where do they go when they leave here? For sure I have to go where they went because each of my beloved companions took a big part of my heart and soul, and if I go somewhere else when I die, how will I ever be whole again? I carry pieces of their heart in my heart, so I would think they feel the need for wholeness too. And so they wait ..
And so I imagine a place like the Summerlands, where every soul is welcomed without controversy no matter who they were when they lived and breathed and walked next to us.
Maybe it's a fantasy world where Fae and Elfin folk go when they weary of this life. Maybe they welcome the souls that cross between here and there. Maybe my Gracie Anne is there, waiting, watching.
I picture our beloved companions to be spirit like, a little ghostly, because I believe they still move between this world and the next. Some of greet them in our dreams, some of us feel their presence now and then, some of us see them in our homes once in awhile. We keep them in our hearts, we share happy memories of them, and we never forget them.
So where do they go when they leave here? I guess we won't know until we leave here, too.
And that leaves us free to let our imaginations take flight and create fantasies and dreams and write stories, and remember.
The background is made by JaneEden, thank you SO much Jane, it is utterly magical! Your work inspires me more then you can imagine.
The Fae are all by Anita Lee, found at Fantasyattic.
The white moth/butterfly is a brush which I've had for so long I don't even know where it came from.
All the work was done in PSP.
Thank you all for stopping to look at the previous post .. and add it to your faves, and to leave such wonderful, treasured comments.

A wonderful image and I love how you have thought this all out, and I'm sure this is like where they wait for us to be with them again. Wonderful lighting and mystery in this image and a sense of waiting.
This is a very beautiful composition and a nice tribute to our lost companions ! A superb work !!
Beautiful composition.
This is a fine plate to look atto. Fantastic work.
What a wonderful dedication. It brought tears to my heart and also brought great memories back to me. Thanks so much for this beautiful creation.
Oiks, I'd be mobbed by cats!
Great thoughts. Brought a tear to my eye as I looked at a picture of my beloved Pingo, my 19 year old Tortie who passed away 5 years ago. Some mornings I can still feel her rustling in my bed and I often feel her brush past my legs as I sit at my computer. Thank you for sharing these words and this image.
Very charming and pretty ambiance. Good work.
this is moveing and wonderful too
what an amazing and beautiful render and oh I can so follow your thoughts...smile
Lovely fantasy image Rita :)
Very moving words and image. I, too, am a little teary eyed. I think those of us who have pets and loved them dearly wonder where they go when they pass. Gorgeous work!
like a fairyland come true.I like the wolf a lot
This is why will are friends,., your kindness is beyond words even this image is so beautiful. You do wonderful and inspirational work. Jane's added touch is wonderful as well. hugs. :)
I truly hope that when I pass over, I meet with the dogs who have led the way. And while they are waiting, I'm sure they've made other friends that they can introduce me to. A heaven without dogs might be a cleaner place, but I wouldn't believe that its heaven without Amber and Chaos (the two dogs that have gone on before Lee and I) and others yet to come.
This is a very good!
