Description
- Sometimes we lose tracks in our lives, but maybe that can lead you to beautiful places...
My entry for the e-on 2010 environment contest. Made it into the 12 finalists round, but honestly this is no way nearly as good as the winning picture by Laurent Rodriguez. Congrats to him and the runners-up.
A bit of downscaling, framing & signature in this version, no other postwork.
Thanks for viewing, comments etc. always welcome and appreciated.
Have a nice day

well done with the clouds !!!
It could just as well have won and anyway is definitely far better than the runners up at second and third place. Anyway you got to the final at least! Now I don't know, shall I "gratulera" or "kondulera"? ?
Nice.... love the compo here.
An excellent render, you always have very realistic results.
Wonderful render and congrats with your finalist round.
No lie, I was thinking about doing an image similar to this. But, I just don't have those skills up to par yet. Great work and congrats on being in the top 12!
Congrats to you for making it into the finals. Great concept and creation!
Thanks for your comments so far. For "vintorix": Ingen grund (anledning) til at "kondolere", selvfølgelig er det fint nok at komme i finalen :)
I think it should have won! Your works are always so marvelous. I really love your lost tracks metaphor. So true! I lost track today and it led me to this beautiful place!!
A very beautiful image!!
Wonderful place!
It's a shame this didn't go further in the competition..I surely would of voted for it!This scene you depicted above plays out all over this country and I have stood looking down a set of RR tracks many of times soaking in the beauty of what you created here.Well done!..better luck next time! -Will-
Wonderful! Great image.
Fantastic realism!
I was rooting for you! Amazing and beautful, I can get lost in this scene for a long while.
Wow! Well His Must Be Really somthing, This is Just Beutiful and An Amazing Effort!! Very Well Done my Friend!!!
This is gorgeous. Congrats!!!!!
Wonderful scene.
Fantastic scene - beautiful work
Oh this is beautiful!!!
better than e-on's 2nd and third place, i think:)
Really nice scene. Excellent lighting, vegetation and clouds! Great work!
wow what can i say ... perfection! every aspect is just right
Beautiful job. I thought this was one of the fabulous entries. Primo work.
Beautiful with mood and stunning
I saw your Lost Tracks image among the finalists and felt it should have won. All those details! Just exquisite!
I dont like "competition" as the judges just have their own taste, I think they all are good....but glad you made it to the twelve.....nice render
Nice composition, my friend. Good metaphor. The scene itself is very evocative. I can hear the insects, the rustling in the undergrowth, the whisper of the strengthening breeze, the slow, almost stealthy flow of the brook / stream / burn. I can feel the trapped heat, smell the musty, dusty trees waiting for that heavy rain, and the slight smell of wood smoke, and burning beans ..;o) somewhere. It also gets the old mind working. How did we arrive here? What were we looking for? Who was reading the map? In fact, where is that guy? What should we do next? How long will it take us to get back. How long would it take us to learn how to render anything like this? Stop! Too much mind-wandering. Let's set some priorities, folks. Where's the apple and pear fruit drink and those delicious local 'munchies', and how come my back pack is just about empty? I can't possibly have eaten it all. Can I? ... Can I? Warm regards, from a drizzly late July in Glasgow, Scotland, John.
Yep, this is why I didn't submit an image, you've done a magnificent piece here, I'm so glad you made it into the finals, well deserved!
Hmmm... that's cheating, cuz pretty much anything with train related stuff in them, I'm going to be a push over for, so yep!, this one rocks! :) Makes me want to do like when I was younger and walk along the old tracks for miles and miles, since they were out of use. ................md :)
