Description
This is dedicated to all you Australian folk. I've had a life-long fascination with your country. Always wanted to visit, but never got the chance.
When I was a youth, we used to sing a lot of folk songs at our church youth group. One was "Waltzing Matilda." I'm not sure what a "swagman" is; I suspect a tramp, a bandit, or a bit of both. At any rate, I got to wondering today about what a modern--or relatively modern--swagman might be like. This render is the result. Hope you like.

Nice scene! Is that a forty ounce beer in his hand? Hey, yeah, the fire is burning the pot. Did that with an aluminum pot once. Never did find the melted bottom... maybe it vaporized.
I saw a similar scene in the Nevada desert. Even the Jeep is the same color. lol
That's not a beer! that's a Fosters! Big difference! fire is a bit intense but then again...

That would certainly be a Fosters, for sure.. Billabong? That's a waterhole.. Swagman, Drifter, moving from sheep farm to sheep farm I guess (blinkings will be able to confirm this!).. i too have had a lifelong interest and respect for Australian's and their armed forces.. Possibly the best the Allies had.. Maybe.. Ferocious fighters.. Respect.. Great picture Jeremy.. Rob

Great pic. However, Bluey would not get that drunk on one can, so some empties laying around would have been perfect, and of course he would have more beers in that esky. He has dog food in the vehicle, so where is the blue heeler- I know there is no blue heeler for Poser for the Mil Dog, pity. A modern day 'swagman' in this, and a good effort. Good Australian Outback scene you have put this in too. Waltzin Matilda a great Aussie song, rivals our offical anthem. Thanks for the modern depiction in your image. Jan

No, that is a bag of Charcoal, not dog food. The fire is definitely way too big and hot so need to bank it. Also I noticed that the pot is not tied to the rope it is supposed to be hanging from (which would be better if it were a chain as rope can burn). Perhaps, his stew is about to bank the fire for him! heh! Probably would have a few empty beer cans around. I saw him as just relaxing after his first cold one. He does have a cool full of beer next to him.
