Description
This is an male Iguanas and they are not indigenous to Florida. The large dewlap under his chin, can be inflated to attract females, intimidate rivals or scare off predators. The large round scales on his cheek are known as the subtympanic shield. That’s another indication that you are looking at a male, this guy is about 30 inches long. He has nasty claws and a set of sharp teeth.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

Great capture. too bad this is a daylight photo. if you had shot it later in the evening, you could ahve titled this 'Night of the Iguana' just a thought
Great capture of a fascinating creature!!!
I've seen these in Mexico and they are beautiful--almost prehistoric!!
So gorgeous! There is a very unfortunate fashion in the UK amongst not very bright people of keeping animals like this as pets. They suffer badly as a consesquence of the confinement and the ignorance of the owners, and often get just dumped, or if they are lucky rescued.
Great capture !A strange creature ever seen live!
Wonderful capture of this dinosaur. :)

A big fellow! We get more reptiles here that aren't from here. LOL! Great capture!
You forgot to mention that they can eat you !!...lol...Nice capture again Dana! -Will-
Florida is popular with all varieties of non-natives :-} Great capture!
Quite a beast! Enjoying the warmth of the sun! Clive
Holy mackerel, an albino iguana! Great shot, depicting the wonderful patterns and textures on this mini-dinosaur. Looks like it's wearing chain mail.
lol he in the wilds... cool shot of him
wonderful!!
Wouldn't like to meet him in the wild, he is a handsome fella though!!!!
Wow cool shot my friend.
Oooooooh! I like this! I've always liked iguanas and always wanted one as a pet; kinda like wanting a pet elephant...it's okay to want one, but having one would be...well...quite disastrous for the creature in question. I hear they "languish" in captivity and actually suffer from all sorts of maladies you wouldn't expect reptiles to suffer. Well...that's a bit of a ramble, but I love this capture, and this looks like quite a formidable critter too. I love the lazy expression on his face and that super-impressive and rather flamboyant dewlap! He looks a bit prehistoric too, and that's probably a part of why I like these creatures. This is fantastic.
EXCELLENT
