Aldus Panchetta pulled down his goggles and looked around sick-bay. He shrugged and said,"Let me look in Quarantine." He looked in and said,"It's all clear." Thistledown asked,"What's this about?" "These are Altha-Krommium artifact goggles. They let me see things that are sometimes missed by normal senses. I thought if an alien presence was lurking about, I might see him. There must be some reason SUNSHINE spotted Azreal and NOT someone else!" Aldus looked irritated. Thistledown said,"Perhaps. Sunny's perceptional range has changed since her association with Starshine. Perhaps if Leviathan was awake she might have seen him,too. TWL sensed him from the bridge,you know. She is a faux 'Race pf Abel'." "Hey, that's true! ANYWAY--I THINK I can see hyperspace Frames like everyone has been talking about. At least when used or if damaged...and it looks like something is still going on with Abaddon's." Aldus was all matter-of-fact and grinned his famous manic grin again. Toxic said,"I'm going to go eat some more. I... don't want to stand around and look like I'm fretting. Hey, Abaddon. Don't die or try ANYTHING with Sunny unless you want a WHOLE lot of people to kill you. I'll bring you a cinnamon roll if you're good!" She walked off with a strange look on her face. Aldus sighed and looked at Thistledown with a significant look. "YOUR daughter is now in that age range,now!" Thistledown grunted and went to the far side of Abaddon. He glared and said,"The sins of the father should not be passed on to the son." Sunny looked stunned. "He's GORGEOUS! I didn't really notice when we working on saving him in the field." ABaddon said,"I was lead to believe you were a much younger child than you look. You are Sunshine? I don't feel right." Thistledown looked at Sunny and she blinked. "Oh,Sorry! I'm just a bit dazed. Let me take a look at you." Sunshine began sounding like a series of small bell and the blue glow of the hyperspace grid spread over Abaddon's body. He asked,"What is she doing?" Aldus said,"Creating a real-time grid to examine your hyper-frame in. She's already a prodigy. See right there at his center of mass? To my eyes it looks like a small fire?" Sunny said,"Hang on. I'll try a remote neutrino to photon shift. They aren't neutrinos... but this should still work. I think." She frowned and moved her hands like she was playing an invisible piano. After a moment a light like a small fire appeared over his stomach. Several streamers of light rose from it and it lit up part of the room. She said,"My system says they're tachyons, slowed with spilled energy. He's still bleeding out power into the HIGH hyperspace threshold. I can fix that. It's small so we missed it the first time. It's supposed to go to some sensory suite. Abaddon, just hold still." Sunny started chiming again and moving her hands in a rhythmic pattern like she was weaving. The small fire energy disappeared. The streamers dissipated. Sunny sagged as the field faded. Abaddon caught her as she fell toward him. He said,"That was NO child's work! I KNOW you NOW! You are SUNSHINE, the Hyperframe-Healer! You healed me!" Thisledown cleared his throat and said,"Please, hands OFF my CHILD!" Sunny was beaming at the close contact with Abaddon, and straightened up. Aldus said,"I just BET you are thrilled Jalisco brought you down pants that won't fall down at embarrassing points or need to be held up with one hand!" Sunshine turned beat red and angrily exclaimed,"DOCTOR PANCHETTA! How COULD you?" She stamped a foot and gravely announced,"I am going to join your daughter for breakfast!" She cast a last longing look over her shoulder at Abaddon and marched out of the Quarantine ward with what shreds of her dignity were left intact. Abaddon said,"You were right,Aldus. She is a wonder!" He laid back,exhausted. Thistledown noted the comment and excused himself. --TO BE CONTINUED!--
