Another Gorgeous shot
It is a very nice building, I can just see Rapunzel at the window :o)
bonne photo!!
Great picture of a lovely building!
That roof slate is amazing! I love a good roof-slate pattern! Of course I like the turret as well. What I really like about this photograph is the amount of shade in the environment. The light is crisp and nothing is obscure, but there's such a pronounced indication of shadow (or at least shade) and it makes the mood of the picture a lot richer and a bit more relaxed. This is quite a lovely shot. And I like the idea of that chimney sticking out of so small a turret...it reminds me of a "black kitchen" so to speak. Those are weird parts of some castles and other bits of semi-ancient architecture. If I'm not mistaken, black kitchens served as smoke houses once upon a time, but I could be wrong about that. It doesn't matter though, this is a super shot!
Outstanding POV employed to capture the crisp clarity, light/shadow and textures of this grand edifice, Dana! Incidentally, with my military mind set, whenever I read the word, turret, I automatically think of a machine gun to go along with it, like ham and eggs or Laurel and Hardy.
