Description
...and the longest night" - it's not a title for a new movie - but the annual phenomena (Winter-Solstice today, the 21st of June) - in our 'upside-down' world of OZ.
There was something very magical happening, when the Moon just started to rise in the East and the Sun about to disappear in the West.
The fluffy clouds looked like golden fairy floss, if there is such a thing ?
(no photoshop today - just me & my little old Fuji, taken in May)
Cheers *BB*

And the longest for us! Nice capture!!
Superb, Brigitte! A masterpiece.
An amazing world to see here, from the 21e of June! Handclapping, Bravo Brigitte!
Super shot Brigitte. This compliments my 'Summer Solstice'.
Beautiful shot Brigitte and I would like to think that all thing elf and fairy exist. It would be a much less interesting place if they didn't.
Superb work. Well done.
beautiful capture.
very lovely
fantastic colours in those clouds! (fewer leaves would have been nice...)
Wonderful capture! love the colours of the sky
Love those clouds! Well, we have out longest day today. Getting light at 4:20 am and it doesn't get dark till well after 10:30pm. Right now enjoying a daytime thunderstorm, with full sunshine and no rain...looks really odd.
GORGEOUS IMAGE, GREAT SHOT!
Very nice photo!
What a BEAUTIFUL photo!! The sun on the clouds with the the moon showing also is just breath-taking!
A lovely capture of these happy looking clouds. I like how you have the dark frame of the trees to really make them stand out.
Fantastic! I love the contrasts in teh framing and composition. Stunning beauty! Great photo. Nicely done.

stunning sky and capture
I'm ready to trade seasons with you. It's been about 105 degrees (40.5 C) here in Tucson. Enjoy your winter. Fantastic photo.
wish we could enjoy your season here... wonderful colors and composition, dark foliage looks especially great!
Wow!! What a gorgeous shot! The color on those clouds is Outstanding, and the Moon in there . . . Great Shot!!
Awesome/fantastic/great/beautiful etc. etc.!
Perfect exposure to show the full glory of the sky and clouds- love the sihlouette effect of the foreground tree framing this!
well, after all my talk about your design-sense (and transforming photos), you post a pure photo of deep beauty. The clouds look like a grand mountain range. And the deep oranges---an autumnal orange (something we don't get in the winter solstice, up here in the arctic)---and the deep blacks of the ground and those over-arching branches and leaves above, and that single Japanese-like moon, are all so beautiful and simple. I mean, it's complex, but it's also simple. It does have a Japanese sense to it. You framed it all with those silhouetted trees and leaves, so that we feel like we're viewing the clouds and moon through a very intimate space. It's beautiful, Brigitte, and you picked the perfect hue for your signature. A truly poetic photograph.
