Description
Throttle-up, shut-down and separation.
With only 90 seconds of fuel remaining the signal is sent from Mission Control to the nine engines of the new Hercules super booster to throttle-up to 110% capacity.
At exactly the same moment a second signal is also sent to fire off the series of explosive bolts which are holding the aerodynamic nosecone to the top of the boosters five engine central core block unit.
As all nine engines on the booster splutter and die from lack of fuel the nose separates and hurtles on-ward into low Earth orbit bringing to a successful end this first test flight of the new Hercules super booster.
To be continued.
