Description
'Opaeka'a Falls is a pretty cascade about 150 ft. high, along 'Opaeka'a Stream, in Kapa'a on the east side of Kauai. 'Opaeka'a means "rolling shrimp" in Hawaiian. Apparently, in old days, shrimp could be found in the stream at the base of the falls.

Anything at the base of the falls would most certainly be 'rolling'! So green..I always think of these islands as without much of that, although i know that's wrong.

Really? Shrimp? Amazing bit of info. I don't know what it is about a waterfall, I find them like staring into a fireplace, hard to stop looking at. Majestic also comes to mind. A real beauty.
