Oh, yeah, this is a great specimen, I think it's from the Middle Kingdom, but it might be Late Period Old Kingdom too. It's kinda hard to tell because the green didn't really come into popular use until that dude, what's-his-name started doing all sorts of stuff with copper and formic acid, but at about 2 AD, Agarans started retrofitting all of their machines, while the Üküré started using more mercury in their internal balancing mechanisms. This is great, and it's kind of a bit more Agaran than Üküré. As you know, the Üküré usually make slightly more rounded Čoti with thingamabobs on the bottoms; this one has plenty of thingamabobs (and that's what makes it confusing) but it has that longer Agaran shape; they had a thing for cylinders you know. I love the mystery of this, and the details are marvelous! Great stuff! It definitely has an industrial look; like it's a part of a really complicated and gorgeous who-knows-what!? This is incredibly well seen and I love the dedication! Stunning. The funny thing too, is it could also be Nemaean; they really dig that retro look as well, but this has too many clean lines and eye appeal. Nemaeans usually build really ugly stuff that rusts more quickly than is natural. I love this though, It's most-definitely a capture of everything Üküré and Agaran, with a healthy dollop of Tara thrown in to keep it interesting! Marvelous stuff! Seeing this makes me want to go to a local Üküré coffee house and enjoy one of those little bitty cups of intense Turkish coffee (the kind with coffee-mud on the bottom) and nice dill cakes with decadent raspberry icing! I also just got the thought of Dül and Xéŕšé seeing this and getting extravagantly hinky at the sight of so venerable a mechanism, and wondering if this is a wild machine, or one of the tame ones on display at some museum. As Dül and Xéŕšé will tell you, you just can't trust those wild machines: they're bound to do anything, especially if it defies logic!

Fascinating bit of mid 19th century equipment, something you might find in a Jules Verne novel. It took some brass to display this on Renderosity.

Well first I thought of a very old steam train engine and then I thought it could be a REALLY elaborate water-filtered hookah type pipe. Very cool whatever-it-is and makes for such an excellent photograph!! :)

Well, at first glace I would have said, of course..lol, a jet engine of some kind.. But I think not.. It looks cool though, great work whatever.. Looks good. I love the dark background.. How do you get the background black.. Is there a programme ? My Photoshop Elements does not has the function to do that.. Nor Picasa 3.. Can you point me ..? Great picture.. Rob
