Description
From above, the Eel River does look quite twisty and turny. But the real reason it's called the Eel is because they're used to BE eels in it--conger eels I believe. Creepy critters, but a big source of food for the people who first lived here.

You got some corking shots on this flight! I love the swhole compo of this one.
This must be on the short hop to Arcata airport. Nicely done!
I love this series.
Thats some twisting river, Nice capture from above!
What's this....conger eels existing so far north? I thought they couldn't take the cool weather. Be that as it may, thank you for the startling info, Marilyn. Cool shot of the undulating river below.
wonderful warm hugs, Linda
WOW! What a river! It's a rather slender beauty from above. Like Andrea, I really love the composition of this shot! It's so well done, and the plane engine has a nicely shark-like shape to it...kinda like that rare breed of great metalic shark with a spinny thing on its nose! I love that!
Cool shot and it looks like you were riding a prop plane. Must've been the short hop south to S.F.
I love the hills ... the reason for the twists and turns ... wonderful capture!
