Description
An attempt to make a Boss OC-2 octave divider.(hey it was THERE.) I am posting this mainly to find out a couple of things: 1. Can a descent Metalflake material be made (in C4D)? 2.Are there good metalflake shaders available? 3. Is there a way using BODYPAINT to apply letter etc. over a shader such as Danel or Nukei? Layers?Hmmm I thought that was gonna be a breeze in BP.
Obviusly I would have wanted the lettering to pop more.I might retexture in UV MAPPER as an alternative.Guitar peeps will recognize this 'stompbox'...(hopefully) ! lol.
anyway thanks for looking and feedback. It was fun modeling this though...what else is laying around? Hmmm Dave 5391151

awesome rendering
excellent work!!
Excellent model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dunno about C4D, but do you have multiple channels for materials/shading light interaction methods? If so, setting one master channel to phong for the light interaction and then use some noise in it to drive the highlight and reflection. The phong one will be a lighter color as well. That should give the granular quality of the metal flakes. The base color and depth will be in the other master channel using regular light interaction. I do know it can be done in Carrara that way, but you'll have to experiment on your own to work out the details for C4D. I figure the concept(s) used for this type of material can't be too far off despite software differences. Also note that lighting greatly affects the appearance of this type of material. Diffuse/soft lighting may make it look fairly flat, but putting a kicker spotlight on it can bring up the lustre in the reflection and make the metal flakes pop.
Nice bit of modeling, I know nothing about C4D so no help there.
Great modeling work!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the very same pedal. Nice work!
So far soooo good....! And I agree....the lettering should pop a little more... But I must say.....VERY good modeling !!!
