Description
i drove up to this dock and got out to take photos. some shimpers guys was getting off they boats and they looked mad. I just keep on takeing photos and they looked at me but they got into they trucks and drove off. I was not up on the news and still not. I do not have a thing on my tv to get a picture. Anyway this is the day that the shimpers find out that it may be 3 years or longer before they fish again. I think that why they was mad. Not at me but they lost they big lively hood. Shimper around here do diff things year round to keep the money comeing in. some weild some crayfish ...guess what ever it takes to make a liveing. Goverment say nothing yet that I know of...if it was Bush they have field day with him but here nothing?????
This is a big shamp boat. i got photos of small ones too

It's a beautiful picture but very sad to think it could be a long time before they can sail again lets all hope they get all the help they can.
Wonderful shot!
WONDERFUL picture!!!!!!!
A sad time for a lot of people!!
Times were already tough but its even tougher now with them all not being able to support their normal lively hood. So sad of things. Nice capture. Aloha
SUPERLATIVE WORK, GREAT PICTURE! i'm very sorry for all the people who're damaged by the oil spill
Awesome shot!
Shrimp boats is a comin' Their sails are in sight... Excellent clarity in this shot of the still pristine boats, Jock. Terrible, terrible disaster in the gulf, and looks like it may grow worse.
Excellent shot of that boat, Jocko!
No more fishing in your area...maybe for the next 25 years...thats a shame Great boats
outstanding capture Jock and it is sad that they have lost their livelihood
Hopefully things will look up for them sooner than 3 years that's so terrible but it is happening every where great capture !
It is quite tragic what is happening! Very, very tragic. It's a true disaster, all because of big business. As for this picture, WOW! I have read about shrimp boats, but I never saw one. They're smaller than I imagined, but I guess they don't have to be as big as aircraft carriers! Those nets are enormous! WOW! This picture is very clear and I love the details. So many details! This is great!
Great shot! I can't blame them, they can see the oil out there and wont be able to make a living for sometime. :(
excellent shot! :)
Very impressive boats. Poor guys. That was the same thing for fishermen in Bretagne (France): 16 march 1978, the ship Amoco Cadiz let on the beaches 227 000 tonnes of oil.
We need to lose our dependence on oil, but I'm afraid that can't happen over night, and the will is not here yet for it to happen at all. The fishermen and others who make their living along the Gulf will suffer greatly. It is a horrible situation. Stunning capture! Beautiful color, detail and and shapes! I love all the patterns made by the rigging and nets!
So tragic I feel so sorry for them, hugs Jane xx
Great foto love this grabshot.....fantastic. What about an essay on them," the Shrimp that got oiled ", or," the Shrimp That Got Away "
