Downtown Seattle.
The building that's reflected is one of the most popular highrises in Seattle ... the old WAMU Tower.
Washington Mutual Bank (WAMU) didn't survive the banking crises of 2008. They crashed, and were bought out by JPMorganChase. For years and years Washington Mutual was a local bank, but they eventually got too big for their britches and their headquarters actually moved to California! Unbelievable. It was probably the beginning of the end.
That beautiful building, formerly known locally as the WAMU Tower is now officially called the 1201 Third Avenue Tower. Hmmm. An accurate moniker, if somewhat pedestrian. Maybe in a few days I'll show you a picture of the actual building, not just its reflection. It's my favorite building in Seattle!
The building you actually see ... the one creating the reflection ... is the Seattle Art Museum, which is a pretty fabulous building in its own right!
