Description
A forest which is being cut down in Tokai, Cape Town, as the Pine trees are not indigenous to South Africa. I will not go into all the pro/con debate, but it does seem a pity. The native vegetation is wonderful and less thirsty, just not as tall for a cool quiet walk.
I will enjoy it while it lasts!

Wonderful capture Clive.
Cool shot.
NOOOOOO!!!! They are not cutting down the Tokai forest for real??? Please tell me it's a joke!!! Gosh Clive - I can absolutely not believe it!!! What a sad image that cries for the lost forest!!
I love the shapes that wood takes on naturally; and not native? At one point the earth was all connected, so EVERYTHING is essentially native.
an interesting shot!
A great old stump on it's final days. Great capture!
Very interesting...The powers that be must feel the same as I do about Eucalyptus!
interesting ...
I like this. It is a nice , peaceful, reflective image. Nice capture.
I like to find stuff like this too. wonderful shot
A place for fairies :)
Hmmm ... not native? An interesting concept. I agree with Denise ... perhaps these pines came from Mars? There's something wonderful about pine straw ... but don't ask a golfer! :P
So... not native..? Does that extend to the birds and mammals.. The cattle.. PEOPLE! Of course it doesn't! The stupid idiots! Sad..... So completely sad and stupid.. Rob
Great capture and I bet there are all kinds of things growing in there. Dana
