Description
Snapped a few pictures of this little guy in my garden yesterday. He was quite obliging for a while but finally must have got tired of me moving him around and he flew off just as I was really getting into the swing of it all !!.
A few have asked details of this beetle but to be honest I don't know them. In the last week I have seen 5 but never seen them before that. This was one of the smaller ones at just over 2cm or just under 1 inch for you imperials.

Handsome little guy. I wonder what he is.
Looks like he's playing for the Oz One Day cricket side with the jersey he is wearing!! :) Wonderful capture of this cutie Martin!! I'm just wondering how big he is?
COOL closeup Martin. That's quite a colorful beetle. Which one is that? George, Ringo, Paul? Can't be John. Sadly we lost him long ago. Excellent image.
lol he looks like he needs a name...cute lil creature!
An excellent capture !!!!
Fantastic capture! love the colours
What a marvelous capture, so clear, you can easily see his little pupils, love it :)
Looks like he was enjoying the spotlight. Nice capture with that macro setting. I always ever get blurry pictures. I'm not a photog by any means.
Great macro shot my friend, excellent capture.
Beetles rule the world....largest number of species of any insect...about 350,000! Really great capture of this fellow, whichever of the 350,000 he belongs to!
Awesome shot
Wonderful macro!
Beautiful macro.
Nicely done - unique and very interesting !

Saw this one.. Not sure. Some kind of Scarab. Looks like a Japanese beetle but not quite. Something close to it I think. Great colors though for sure.
