Description
Another prop done. Modeled and rendered in LW, still no texture work (probably because I suck big time at doing textures, lol).
This is the captain's station for the "Argo", to be used in the collaboration project "Expansion" I'm working on with Franky, Obiwan, billy-home, laughingnome and gps.
The only way to make an intelligent command decision is to have as much information available. So, the captain's station has as many monitors and displays at his/her disposal. Sounds good, but actually I just got carried away modeling monitors. :o) The holo screen (transparent window) has a sliding arm with a special lens for zooming in to details, the main keyboard swings out of the way, there is a special arm with a touch sensitive tablet, and of course the ubiquitous standard cupholder is there also. Everything is parented hierarchically for animation purposes.

Great modeling job...kinda reminds me of the "old school" Star Trek sets...I dig the monitors too...nice touch!

It looks great! But id love to se it in a room. With a good lightning and animated monitors, i think it would be even greater!
Fabulous work as always, Moe. How much of the Argo do you eventually plan to do? Just the bridge? Or will there be staterooms, mess, airlocks etc?

I still have to finish three more stations and the shell of the bridge. Ajax - the whole ship! :o) (a corridors kit, airlocks, blast doors, access hatches, lifts, gondolas, ladder shafts, catwalks, cabins, staterooms, crew berths, cryo chambers, hangars, mech room, armory, cargo hold, galley, mess hall, rec room, engineering, guts, brig, quarantine, sci lab, sick bay... and anything else I can think of..)
