Description
LIFT-OFF
Over half a million people gather on and around the grounds of NASA�s Kennedy Space Centre (KSC) in Florida to witness the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on its final flight into space.
Atlantis is to be the first of NASA�s new Orbital Shuttles and in space will be used as a workhorse in Robert L Carters plans to firstly enlarge even further the International Space Station, and then to help build the new generation of spacecraft NASA will use in Earth orbit and beyond.
