Back when I was younger, I'd ride something like this, now I ride a wider seat and wider tire bike
Ah, those bikes are why so many people grew up with hemorrhoids!
Oh yes, I would have loved this place---I rode my old 10 speed for years till I got my new bike--felt like a kid at Christmas!!
That and cold concrete? ;)
Superb capture my friend.
I had the most fabulous Schwinn as a kid that was my life. Unfortunately, I was never good at riding it and stayed in agony with seeping wounds on both knees for years and years. I stopped riding as a teenager because boys weren't keen to date girls with seeping knees. About a year ago and some 40 years later, I started riding my grand daughter's old bike. I still fall, still wobble into the road unexpectedly and I still haven't gotten the hang of turning a corner, but I am enjoying my evening rides around the block a time or two each day. The history of bikes is fascinating and the reasons behind them and styles are really a way of tracking our history as a society. I bet this was a great exhibit - it sure looks that way from this photo.
I love my bike and this is great shot for all of us boomer cyclists. Fixed up my Dad's 1977 Schwinn and now that the weather is warming up...if only my knee would heal!
Wonderful memories of a bike like that! Great shot!
oh yep I had a bike as a kid too and I liked it but it had to have a higher handle bar because of a backinjury I had... and it had a great advantage, it only had 3 gears...lol..I tried again 40 years later and I quit because of this gear stuff...lol
I like it too !!! A great capture :o) 5*****
