The Olympics are now over.
I don't have cable, so I didn't get to see any of the Hockey games except the Men's Hockey for the Gold... but this picture is about the Women's Hockey.
I've never seen Women's Hockey but discovered there was in the Olympics. The Canadian Men had already lost to the Americans and it didn't look good for Canada - HOME OF HOCKEY.
The Canadian Women stepped up and beat the Americans.... Even though I'm American, I felt the Women thought the men's team let down their nation - AND THEY WEREN'T GOING DOWN THAT ROAD!
The next day after they Won, I seen over 30 pictures of these girls Smoke'n Cigars and Drinking on the Ice.... now granted, the Olympic committee did not like that.... However, I loved it. These Women are playing a "Man's" sport, so if they win, they deserve to act like Men and Celebrate like Men.... We are all taught it is tradition to have a Cigar and a Drink after a meaningful Victory, so I salute these girls.
There are still women in the world that don't have rights and are forced to act a certain way - I hope males that are dominating females in other country's take a good look at this and realise these Women deserved this.... They Stepped it up when the Men looked down & out and I'm proud to call these people Nieghbors and friends.
This was my favorite story of the Olympics this go round and I'm glad the Canadian's won their Gold in Hockey, since it was in Canada.... but like everthing in this world, things change - so Canada, enjoy this IT'S AWESOME YOU WON and with out you, we would not have Hockey... be real careful in 4 years - lol

I felt exactly the same way. You should've seen them play! What an awesome game it was. I didn't really care who won, Canada or us, I just wanted the Gold to stay here, in North America, and it DID!! When the game was over, I was so happy .. it seemed right that they should win it on home soil.

great tribute. Im not only a football fan but a hockey one as well...so I was fortunate enough to be able to see most of the games between all contenders. Congrats to both canadian hockey teams. Now on to the Stanley... GO BLACKHAWKS

Just an awesome Image all around Mike! - I agree,this has been a man's sport for so many years- I remember when I was younger- the thoughts of a woman playing was far off in the future- then we saw our first girls team...and then when I had my son , both girls and boys played on the same team ( younger ones that is)- I have always been a hockey fan, and growing up here in Eastern canada ( mainly in Labrador City) we had snow most of the year - learning to take advantage off it was something that came natural- Sking and hockey was a few of the sports that I playing....( I had a wicked slapshot ) haha.... Those ladies did a awesome job, and you as said before are a great sportsman and a fantastic artist..... ps - Being from Cole Harbour here It was even better when Sydney scored the overtime goal...made us so proud! Hockey is in our blood- both male and females...:)

Awesome image Mike, never saw them play but this compilation of images sure looks great.
There's not much Ice Hockey here in England, but Hockey, or 'Hockey Sticks' has been a traditional girls sport at school, where they always celebrate with cigars and beer... even if they didn't win. England's not the place it used to be.
