Description
At times, you had to just close your eyes and wait till all the smoke and ash clears away. Here is another area where lava is about to plunge thru the vegetation kicking up a storm of fire and smoke. That ball of fire sure looks eerie. Big Bird? Aloha and thank you for viewing.

The Fire Bird? Impressive admission.
Cool, it kinda looks like a pelican
I used to frequent your beautiful islands as a surfer when I was younger, and to me big Sunset was about the scariest thing I thought you guys had (other than Eddie Rothman!!!!)...apparently I was wrong. You live in an amazingly beautiful part of the world, and your great photographs do it justice.
Doskonałą praca. Pozdrawiam miło.
It must be so warm as well. And you have to learn calculating the next move of the lava I'm sure...something for the experienced person and not just anyone who fancies a lava show.
yes! the flame looks like a bird! GREAT shot!!!!
wow, what a great shot ! and it DOES look like Big Bird...lol
wonderful looking
it's true... lava seems to be the head of a big bird! Excellent capture! :)
Another amazing revelation!
That is pretty darn wicked looking! What a catch to get a "fire" Big Bird. Well done!
It does look like big bird... great shot!
you have a sharp imagination to have spotted it.thanks for sharing your forays into harm's way
This view is much more ominous and scary. Perhaps a phoenix. The foreground has already been ravaged by the lava.
Yes, I was also thinking of the Phoenix rising from the ashes! Keep your flame suit handy my friend, ha ha!
seems to be the fire bird in a paradise where fire rules! ;o)
I knew I shouldn't have thrown that cigarette in the woods... Very erie shot, the smoke adds to that feeling. And the cooling lava in the foreground looks fantastic, lots of cool lines and cracks. Well done my man!
The flame looks like a bird! Excellent capture!
