Description
Yosemite Valley is some eight miles in length with an average width of one mile and up to 8,000 feet deep. It is surrounded by granite summits and heavily populated with pine trees. This was one of the views from Curry Camp Village, a collection of canvas sided cabins. That's Glacier Point on the right. In the distance, just left of center, are the Royal Arches. It was difficult to take a bad picture but I did my best.

SPECTACULAR CAPTURE GREAT COLOUR
I really need to go there. This picture is astounding...the scale of those cliffs is stunning, especially when you look at the trees and compare them. I love the rock faces and the way they catch light and shadows, and I really like the sense of scale here! My science fiction muse is tingling and I can easily see this as a stand in to some really cool alien planet...I mean if Tunisia and Namibia can BOTH be Tattooine (goofy name for a planet) and the home of Luke Skywalker, then why can't this be a better named planet for a hero who doesn't whine as much as Luke did in the first Star Wars movie!? This is really a great shot, too bad you utterly failed at attempting to take a bad one! Ah, but some failures are utterly worth it! This is great work.

Gorgeous place and capture! The lush green of the trees and grass, with the beautiful glances of yellow, refuse to let the majestic summits dominate completely. Stunning! I can't wait to see more!
