Description
This is the result of leaving some vegetables e.g. potatoes or onions, too long in the pantry, un-used and then...they take on a lifestyle of it's own and start to sprout.
I didn't have heart to throw this onion out, and thought you can live another day, by planting it into a container and leaving it to it's own devices.
Our recent heatwave really helped to fasten that growing process, plus the constant northerly Trade winds bending the onion flower into this shape, which I thought was interesting in an abstract way.
And then I added a film grain filter in Photoshop CS2.
BTW I love to add onions and garlic to most meals, it's a definite blood improver.
Cheers *BB*

I've done this with odds and ends I forget about in the bin. Ginger root is another...I often buy ginger and then don't use it all. They make gorgeous, tall flowers much like calla lilies.
So that's what happened to my pet science project ?...it grew ! It's weird how just the force of the Trade winds made it grow so out of shape, but it sure does make for a kool photo and the postwork has made the wall look just like gold ! Well done & ~Cheers~
It certainly is an interesting "abstract"! I like the shadows near the bottom - they compliment the stalk very nicely. Well done!
You can keep the garlic! UGH! Onions are great, and I LOVE this shot!
fantastic capture!
WONDERFUL IDEA GREAT SHADOW
Very lovely!
hah! very cool image.... looks like your onion is learning to dance... another use of an onion is to keep one by you bed while you sleep, it collects germs that you exhale... absorbing them, keeping you healthy..(garlic... the sweet rose of mirth)
A great capture of this cute little onion who is trying his best to grow for you. Excellent shadow work and textures.
WOW! I really like this shot. It looks vaguely alien, like you've got a little periscope in your window-mounted planter...probably from some interesting alien pet keeping an eye on what's going on outside of his...well...his planter. I love the post work. Like your two earlier pieces, it has a somewhat retro look, from the "high art" era of poster design, and it works perfectly here. And to top it off, you mention onions and garlic! WOW! I love garlic! I'd sprinkle minced garlic on my ice cream if I could get away with it. I love that stuff! This is a fantastic shot, and perfectly presented too. Very nice.
Nothing should go to waste when it can so easily become a lovely piece of art! You are so clever! It is absolutely beautiful. Very zen looking. I love it. Well done.
Excellent! Very creative.
Very lovely!
I like the texture in this. It looks like something on canvas. The colors are nice and muted, like something in the Arizona desert. The bent onion is hilarious. This is a great capture. How tall is that onion stalk? It looks pretty amazing.
Excellent photo!
You sound like me I don't think I could could without onions. :)
Fantastic work.
Well done!
