Another shot from the Museum of Flight.
This is my favorite view of any airplane ... the engine, cowling and prop. I'm not sure what the attraction is! Maybe the angles, the circles, the intersections of shapes. Whatever it is, I have a LOT of pictures of different planes with this view, and I'll probably subject you to several of 'em!

A radial engine - see any resemblence to a Harly motor...? This is a great crop, sublte tones of blue. Very well done, Clive

This is wonderful. I read the title and immediately thought of my big nerd-moments with movies like any part of the Star Trek or Star Wars franchises where spaceships bank in space. There's no need to bank...there's no atmosphere to bank through! Okay, I admit, it looks good on screen, but still...banking in space? Oh well...needless to say that has nothing to do with this image, but titles do that to me. I love this shot, and I wish I had more time to comment on the ones preceding it, but that'll have to wait, unfortunately, for tomorrow. Ah, but the anticipation will build. What a shot this is. I can see how this would be appealing. I'd get as close to that baby as I could as well...and yeah, probably annoy the museum guards, but hey, that's fun too! This is great!

Fantastic angle. Almost have a feel to this capture the plane is still ready to fly. Like the tone as well.

A great collection of Boeings up there in Boeing Country (this is the 40B :D ) . I like the shutter on the front of the crankcase, these were very popular on radials until the early thirties when better oils (with more consistent viscosity) started becoming available. Looking forward to the 80. I really like that one.

Planes from this era had a certain "warmth". You could see the humanity that went into their construction. You've captured that very well in this little slice.
