Description
This is the “ball gunner” or "belly gunner" under the belly of a B-17G World War II bomber. It is placed just behind the bomb bay doors. The gunner flies backwards and protects his aircraft and crew from enemy fighter planes attacking from behind. Taken 3 days ago at the Baca Raton airport in Florida.

Great shot, Dana! looks like a lonely and isolated spot to be!
Bel punto di vista e ottima foto di un soggetto storico! Beautiful views and excellent photo of a historical subject!
Super shot, Not a nice place to be stuck if the plane had to make a crash landing.
Reminds me of a big bulldog with "accoutrements" intact; what a very male design this is!
Looks like the place to get away from the crowd. That or you tried to get in somewhere you were not suppose and got chased under hear...lol Nice POV!

Another job I don't think I'd like. Great shot, bet you had a good time!!!!
A stellar POV employed in this shot of the belly pod, Dana! This had to be one of the most uncomfortable and vulnerable spots on the aircraft.
Nice pov! I like this very much.
