Description
This picture was taken shortly after the previous one of the Tower of London. The bridge is adjacent to the Tower, hence the name.
It is still raining, a cold, penetrating, chilling rain but these Japanese tourists didn't seem to mind. But they did something I didn't do, protect their camera while they were taking pictures.
The Tower Bridge was opened on 30 June 1894. It is a combination bascule/suspension bridge with an overall length of 244 m (801-ft). The longest span is 66m (200-ft) and the clearance is 8.6m (28-ft) closed and 42.5m (139-ft) open.
This picture was taken on 21 December 2009.

Outstanding capture my friend.
Wonderful scene and expression !!! A beautiful work, dear Sig. !!! Hugs Karin :)
Get yourself one of those waterproof, shockproof little jobs. New ones were just announced at PMA 2010. Those things are getting better all the time. I love that riverfront and spent a few hours over the years walking there. The rain, IMO, adds to the image being special. Everyone takes it in the sunshine. And the girls' vivid colors are exactly the contrast needed. A lovely shot.
