Description
A kite surfer at the beach in Strand, Western Cape. My children spent about two hours in the waves here two weeks ago while I sat taking the odd shot of the beach life. It was the last weekend of the Christmas school holidays. The mountains in the distance are the other side of the bay - Simon's Town and Fish Hoek. This is in False Bay, the haven of Great White sharks. Two days later a man lost his life in an attack at Fish Hoek beach.
Scary!
Cheers,
Clive

Outstanding picture captured by you Clive.
What an awesome action shot Clive! Bruce and I watched two beginners in Walvis Bay doing kite surfing last year but the one guy was more in the water than on the board! Yes - that Great White attack across the bay was bad! Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time!!!
Nice capture - I think this sport is funny.
fantastic shot!!! wonderful place and colors!
wonderful! Looks very warm!!!!!
wow excellent capture!
Looks much nicer here! They used to do it where I lived, in Deal, Kent... but it was brown sea and much colder! So, you are up on both.... Great shot and well caught! Rob
I'm a keen sailboarder, but have never tried this. I watch them all them time and it sure looks like fun. Great photo. Keep out of the way of the MEN IN GREY!
It does look fun, but you won't catch me in water shared with sharks! Great capture!
This really looks exhilerating! I'd love to do it but not where sharks lurk. :-) Fabulous shot.
Wonderful action capture! It speaks of summer in full swing. Fun stuff!
This looks like so much fun---sure would love to give it a try someday. And when you put your feet in the ocean, you never know what might be there to take a bite, just the way it is. I know people who have stopped even going in the ocean because of that, too bad; they miss so much.
What fun this looks! I need to live a second time round to fit everything in that I'd like to try. A perfect composition!
I cant do this, but its fascinating !
Great shot!
