Description
Alchemy in general, and the creation of the Philosopher's Stone in particular, is broken down into several key steps:
- Liquefaction
- Fusion
- Distillation
- Dissolution
- Evaporation
Which, among other steps, aimed to "purify" the components. The material thus purified is called philosophical egg. Here is the recipe, very simple, as explained Nicolas Flamel (1330-1418):
- The Abyss, which rids the area of impurities (symbolizing death)
- The work to white or small work-or small-teaching, which helps make the White Stone could transmute base metals into silver. The operation is symbolized by a tree on the moon. (symbolizes the return of the soul in the heart purified?
- The work to red, or great-great-work or teaching, this step transforms the White Stone Philosopher's Stone, represented by the solar tree. (symbolizes eternal spiritual life)
