Description
Yeah, that is what it is..just the MaskEdit Skinz tattoo skin #2, on a guy looking menacing in the Razor Rider Diner..or it could just be the food;)
I did do some postwork tweaks--I had the displacement a little too high on his hands and face, though the body tex bump was good, and the tatts on his body are a little less dense than on his face, so I thickened them up (and you can tell if you look close). Some of this is because of the difference in resolution between the head texture and the body texture. For a permanent solution I'd copy and go over the texture map instead of doing it as postwork, but not today;)
The lights are my own, so the AO isn't great. I have to say I am impressed with the TopModel kit tank top UV mapping--that is one of Parrotdolphin's procedural textures on it and it's perfectly straight and true, and looks great. I'd recommend that set for anyone who needs "normal" fabrics, in spite of the name of the set (it's only Gothic if you put it on Goth stuff). Parrotdolphin's Into Leather is on the seats, that tribal blue design.
And finally, the seats aren't torn in the original diner--it's just that I live in Diner Central, aka New Jersey, and the seats *always* have at least one hole, and I'm always the one sitting on it! And of course there will be gum.

Great job ! I love the style !!
I can't keep up with you, you're too productive lately lol Funny the first thing I noticed is how handsome he looks and I love his hair and the second one, was the tear in the seat, you did such a nice job at that lol
I like this image, not the least for your thoughtful critique of your own work - a difficult task especially at such a short time after its creation. Thank you for sharing your commentary, it makes your works all that much more enjoyable.
super cool :-) hugs
i love the scene. i grew up in Jersey, and still miss talking with my friend in diners. we still talk by phone, but it's not the same. the food looks very realistic to me, even though we don't see much of it. it's easy to identify the dish even though we can't see much of it, which always impresses me. is he part of the bug comic? or is his coloring a coincidence? the only thing that strikes me as a little unusual is how red his skin is. for one thing, even for skin in a normal setting, it's very red. just to make sure about that, i checked with an eyedropper in Photoshop (because i wanted to verify it's not me), and most of his skin tones have a hue of either 3 to about 8, or actually go into the realm of purples up in the 300s (mostly above 320). in a white room that would be unusual, but he's also surrounded by turquoise (double checked on the amount of green in the leather, too) it doesn't look bad, though it does make me curious about the Aer and Mer and why their skin is so red. i've only noted so much detail because i wasn't sure we were seeing the same thing and i wanted to use absolutes rather than a relatives. everything about this is expertly done. as with the Aer charcters, i find the eyes and hair very striking. you tell the best stories with your compositions. the reflection in the table almost seems like a departure from style, but it works so well as a design element. it makes the large space the table makes interesting and connects it to the rest of the surroundings. you obviously know when to do something a little different when you need to. great work!
He looks gorgeous!! Great texture with tattoos...wonderful work!!!
Very cool work!
AWESOME WORK !!
Yup, Gum, and duct tape on vinyl seats! But at least it looks clean! Reminds me of a downtown diner from the 20's I used to eat in here. It even had mini juke boxes at each table.
