Description
This will be my last update on Tanner. This saddens me deeply but for his well being and mine as well, I must give Tanner to a new home. I debated on whether to put this up or not because I know so many of you love him as much as I do. But I owe it to you to be honest and not just let him be forgotten. The fact is I now have a diabetic ulcer on my foot and my doctor says I could lose the toe and possibly with more injury and it not healing, my whole foot. Tanner is a big dog, and being a puppy he is still so playful and hard to settle down..In his anxiousness to play he is constantly stepping on that foot. He is nearly as long as I am tall (I am 5' 2")and when he stands on his hind legs his head fits under my chin, mind you he still has a long way to grow. Yesterday in his exuberance to get out and play in the snow, he nearly pulled me head first down a flight of stairs. I am amazed at his strength! He loves people so much that he jerks me along behind him and nearly causes me to fall. Not wishing to sadden anyones holiday I didn't want to tell you this, and its not an easy decision for me to make but its the right one. He will most likely leave me the day after Christmas.
He will go to a loving family that lives near me so I will still be able to see him from time to time so he will still know his 'mommy'. I know this is right for him because I can't go out with him anymore and its not fair to leave him by himself all day with little attention and then next to no attention the rest of the time because of having to stay off my foot as much as possible. I will miss him so much I haven't words...Alex has promised me a new kitty to help ease the pain but I am not at all ready for that. Thank you all for loving Tanner as much as I do, if he knew you he would love you too, thats just the kind of dog he is. Tears are streaming as I write this, can't help it, thats who I am. Love to you all from us both.

He's such a sweety. My heart aches for you. I can understand how sad you are. But keep the faith because there is a wonderful little kitty in your future. Take care of yourself my friend.
after me getting my large dog Eve almost broke of jumping up against me, she has started the bad habits of Bodie. I really have watch her as she scratched my glasses before.when I told the eye doctor, they looked at me like what kind of dog is that tall maybe you can visit Tanner in his new home.I wish a speedy recovery for your foot
'm so sorry for you that they need to duchmachen that can understand her tears, it's true me too sad to read than the text. Needs quite a lot of strength for the next time! The picture is very pretty and a beautiful blush, it's just a golden boy!
That is sad you have to give him up but it is understandable. My daughters boxers have been around and the pup is just like that. You need to find you a smaller dog. If we could come up with shipping and all I know of a beautiful little wired hair Terrier . They are moving and cannot keep him so they are giving him away Love you my friend and hope you had a wonderful Christmas
He really has been lucky to have you give him such a great life after the bad start he had and I am sure he will love his new owner. It is lovely that you will be able to see him sometimes too and watch him grow. I do hope your ulcer heals soon though they are very hard to get rid of aren't they. These are really wonderful shots to have of Tanner.
Excellent!
I am so sorry to hear this sad news, I know your deep love for Tanner and by letting him go you are proving it. I'm sure he will be looked after in his new home and it's good that you will able to keep in touch with him. I am also sorry to hear of your health problems, my Dad is diabetic and suffers with foot problems and healing is a slow job. I hope you had the best Christmas that you could under the pressures you had, my very best wishes for you in 2010 xxx
So this is Tanner--he looks very much like my son's dog. I'm sorry you had to give him up, but you will both do well. Doesn't make it any easier, I know.
