Description
In 1975 I attended a festival at UCLA featuring new artists. Among them was the Lisa Nemzo trio. Lisa was a pretty young woman with a lovely voice who sang folk music with two of her friends. This image is part of a set I offered to her as my gift. She told me she wasn't a collector. I gave the photos to her friends. I followed her for a while until she unceremoniously dumped her friends and switched to rock music.
Lisa always seemed to be just about to break through but never quite made the big time. The music seemed to be secondary to her need for success. She released two albums in the 1980s while working in Germany. Today she is a practitioner of the ‘healing arts’.
I don’t know if there is a moral to this story except to do what you do because you love it and to remain true to your friends and your art.

There are people who sing for fame and people who sing for themself...and a rare few who can combine the two. I have always felt I'd rather listen to an average singer who sang from their heart than a stellar performer who sang from box office receipts. :-) One thing is for sure...you get from life what you put into it. Great shot.
