Description
Egretta tricolor: the Tricolored Heron is 26 inches (66cm) long, with a 36 inches (91cm) wingspan. S/he is found in salt marshes and swamos. This bird was once called the Louisiana Heron.
Taken October 26th, at Green Cay Wetlands, west of Delray Beach, Florida.

I love herons! His neck is all folded up. Beautiful capture of the subtle differences in the color of his blue-grey feathers. Love those feet. Lovely image!
I have a very yukkie muddy pond in the corner of my field and the UK version of this bird landed on a post took one look and flew off, I didn't even get time to get the camera out, nice shot.
