Something in the Water
Dragonfly, one of the three Mackay brothers--(the other two are busy looting the abandoned Azali base), has gotten nervous about something big in the water under his boat, and has climbed up the platform to the top, where he is leaning out the window you can see at the upper left of the first picture. His brothers are paying no attention to him, as they have finally gotten enough of the door into the base unblocked they can look inside. They haven't told him to be careful about anything, either. He's fascinated by the huge fish thing in the main pool, now that he can see it clearly (the water is better on this side of the Factory Pool)
This takes place at the same time as "Orientation", and you can see the water tower by Bryan's house if you look to the right, as well as most of Newton on the left. At full resolution you can see the Methodist Church and the little house Rain is renting, but not in the compressed version here.
The Poser guy is David from Daz, with my own morphs. He is supposed to have Mairy's Helios hair, but it was taking a long time to render, so like an idiot I drew it by hand instead, which took about 4 times as long as a render, and doesn't look as good. 0_o
The great rusty remains of part of the front of the base are made from gypsyangel's Diseased Styles, which are AWESOME!

WOW ! OUTSTANDING !!
A really cool image. Love the watercolor style to this. Fabulous pov and composition. Way cool beastie fish in the water. Great job painting the hair. :) Love the story with this. Ok - what's with the beetle bug on his back? Did I miss something? Should I be concerned?
WOW...Wonderful scene, perfect POV, very well done!
AMAZING AND FANTASTIC SCENE , GREAT WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent! I really like this style of work you are doing :) It is very eye catching and interesting.
Wow, awesome job on composition! Nice little pet you've got there!
Great work.
Way cool fishcake:)
This is cool!!!!!!!
i love this image, but hate, hate, hate that the bug is crawling on him while he's distracted! it gives me the creepy-crawlies just to look at this image. there's so much detail in this one, i wish we could see it larger and in more detail. i always thought those insets people posted to CG Society were for showing technique, but now i realize what a boon they are for viewers. i'd love to see more of that fish, and of the forest. the fish looks like it's scales are reptilian rather than piscean, is that on purpose? it's an awesome creature. and i actually think the hair was worth it, because it looks really good. the "rusty remains" weren't identifiable as such to me because they lack defining shadows and because they look splintered. while the former could be an artistic issue, i'm wondering about the story behind the latter. oh, and the leaves in the lower right corner are a very nice touch. they sort of balance the composition, and connect the background with the foreground.
How the hell did I miss this one? This is so unique!
Gorgeous work.. But I think He's going to need a Bigger gun for that fish. Excellent !!!
Gorgeous artwork and very cool story. Excellent work!
YOUR SHORT STORIES ARE AMAZING !!
If you are after a painted style you may want to turn off "Visible in raytracing" for the hair - this should speed up your render. But however: The painted hair looks awesome and I am amzaed by the look and feel of this image. Something about it reminds me on pastel chalk, there's a typical kind of softness about it.
The POV is excellent, and I like the hand painted hair, it blents the character in with the backdrop very well
